![]() ![]() ![]() Only years after I played the game, when they removed the MTX and relaxed the requirements to get the ending cutscene did I actually go back and earn it myself. I didn't even get the true ending by myself, I had to watch it on YT. Release Notes: CUSA-04402 Updated to v1.11. In Middle-earthT: Shadow of WarT, nothing will be forgotten. ![]() Also, the microtransactions very heavily affected my enjoyment of the game. Experience how the award winning Nemesis System creates unique personal stories with every enemy and follower, and confront the full power of the Dark Lord Sauron and his Ringwraiths in this epic new story of Middle-earth. The nemesis system didn't feel nearly as motivating to engage with in War for me. But in other ways, it was detrimental to the enjoyment. Which worked well to an extent, I liked seeing more envionments. It was the same gameplay but with more, more, more, more of everything. And outside of Sieges, I don't think War added any notable new gameplay element. War on the other hand came out in 2017, in a year full of bangers. 2014 had a lot of disappointing releases and then out of nowhere you get this game that no one had any hype for, and hey, not only it's pretty damn decent, it has some fresh things (nemesis system especially) and I recall it came out just before a lot of the heavy hitters (like AC Unity, which was a huge technical blunder at launch) I think Mordor really came out at the perfect time. ![]()
